First Minister John Swinney Launches Doddie Aid 2025 Campaign

Scotland's First Minister, John Swinney, has officially launched the Doddie Aid 2025 campaign at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.

This initiative, founded by former Scotland rugby player Doddie Weir, aims to raise funds for motor neuron disease (MND) research.

During the launch event held on Saturday 28th December, Swinney joined fellow supporters who were gearing up for the event.

Doddie Aid is the single largest fundraising initiative of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, taking place annually from January 1st for a period of five weeks.

Participants, who can sign up for a £20 entry fee, are encouraged to track their exercise mileage through the Doddie Aid app.

The campaign invites individuals to engage in various physical activities, including running, cycling, swimming, dancing, and walking.

All participants receive a branded snood, a symbol closely associated with the campaign's efforts and new for 2025, participants will be organised into teams representing the four nations: Scotland, England, Ireland, and Wales.

These teams will compete to log the highest number of exercise miles throughout the campaign.
