We're standing by for snow in Edinburgh on Tuesday (16th Jan) but when is it going to fall and for how long? We've been chatting with Edge 1&2's Veronika for the low-down!

We've seen dry and cold conditions in the capital over the weekend, which forecasters say provide the perfect conditions for snowfall.

There's a yellow weather warning in place for snow and ice in Edinburgh for January 16.

We're being warned that snow is expected to fall between 3 PM and 6 PM across the city, and overnight temperatures will drop to around -4 Celsius.

There could be a longer spell of snow which is thought could cause travel disruption in Scotland.

Veronika, our 'Edge 1&2 Weather Presenter' says: "Allow yourself extra time if you're planning on heading out and about across Edinburgh. Depending on how much snow falls, we could see some widespread disruption on public transport, trains and air travel."

"Make sure if you're travelling by car to drive slowly in the slow and use lower gears in your car for better grip and control of the vehicle."

She added: "I'll be keeping you posted on all the weather updates on air, so remember to keep listening to Edge1 & Edge2 for the latest."
