Edinburgh Gin to Unveil New Distillery This December

Edinburgh Gin is set to unveil its new distillery this December.

The Edinburgh Gin Distillery at The Arches promises an unparalleled experience that allows visitors to discover the brand in a whole new light.

Situated on East Market Street within The Arches, the branch is built on the historic site of Trinity Church, an area with deep roots in botanical exploration dating back centuries.

The facility blends historical elements, such as preserved arches and exposed brick, with modern features, including floor-to-ceiling windows, a stylish bar, a rooftop terrace, and two custom-designed copper stills.

The new 2,000 litre stills are named Annie and Lina in honour of the pioneering female gardeners of the Royal Botanical Garden Edinburgh from 1897.

There’s also a smaller still named Matilda which will be used for experimental purposes, enhancing the distillery's innovative edge.

Together, these three copper stills will be the heart of the operation, ensuring that every bottle of Edinburgh Gin captures the spirit of the city.

With a strong focus on sustainability, this distillery operates entirely on 100% renewable electricity, making it operationally carbon neutral. This initiative follows the brand’s recent shift toward eco-friendly packaging, which includes 49% recycled glass in all formats, fully recyclable labels and shipping materials, and the elimination of secondary packaging across the core range.

The distillery is now open for bookings and will feature four immersive experience programs.

From the Classic Tour & Tasting to the Gin Making Experience, these engaging sessions will highlight the excellence behind Edinburgh Gin and the artistry involved in its production.
