In this guest article, Edge Radio's Veronika Walker was invited to the preview evening of Pinciukas in Edinburgh, where Vesta Bar and Kitchen used to be located, and told us all about her visit.

Pinčiukas is a kind of devil in Lithuanian folklore.  According to 'Kotonoha' Pinčiukas is a little sneaky creature with goat-like features who can trick you into getting what he wants.

If you’re not a good child, he might come to poke you with a pitchfork, well at least that is what Lithuanian folklore tells us, making it a very popular name for a wee restaurant.

We had a beautiful night of wickedly delicious delights, where every bite ignites desire, and every sip is a toast to sophistication at Pinciukas Edinburgh, alongisde Edge 2 presenter Sam Hinks and The Bossman, Jay Crawford.

Taste of Lithuanian cuisine in Edinburgh at Pinčiukas is delivered by a husband and wife (who is originally from Lithuania) duo who are a very lovely couple and so very friendly.

All the main ingredients that go into most of the traditional dishes are imported from Lithuanian even the finest details such as butter, potatoes,  meat, sauces, traditional spirits, and delicious beers with an exciting and varied menu on offer.

The place looks slightly on the darker side to give a mysterious feel linking back to the restaurant's namesake in traditional folklore.

We're really excited to visit Pinčiukas again soon in Edinburgh.
