Adele Roberts Finds Healing and Confidence on Dancing On Ice Amidst Cancer Recovery

Adele Roberts has revealed that participating in Dancing On Ice has aided in the healing of her feet, which were severely affected by chemotherapy.

Roberts, partnered with Scottish ice dancer Mark Hanretty, has been open about her battle with bowel cancer, having undergone treatment and surgery to remove a tumor.

Declared cancer-free in June 2022, Roberts expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the celebrity series, acknowledging the uncertainty she faced about making it to the start line. The experience, she said, not only allows her to celebrate and represent ostomates but also serves as a personal reclamation of her body from cancer.

Despite the challenges of the show, including a fall resulting in a wrist injury, Roberts highlighted the positive impact on her feet, sharing, "My feet have been very damaged by the chemo, and because you're on ice, and there's not much friction, my feet have started to heal, which is amazing."

In October 2021, Roberts disclosed her cancer treatment journey and the use of a stoma bag. She expressed a desire to visibly showcase her stoma bag on the show, aiming to empower others who may feel awkward or ashamed about their own situations.

As Roberts continues her Dancing On Ice journey, she emphasized the supportive environment and the learning experience, stating, "I've been learning off the brilliant people that I get to be on the show with... I feel like I'm really learning what a woman should look like."
