Passengers traveling between Scotland and England have faced massive disruption as weather warnings are in place due to the impact of Storm Ciaran battering the UK.
A yellow warning for rain was issued for the east coast of Scotland, extending from the Moray coast down to Hull, with adverse weather conditions affecting transportation in the region.
Train operators have cautioned passengers to prepare for disruptions, particularly on cross-border services connecting Scotland and England.
As a result of the adverse conditions, LNER (London North Eastern Railway) announced that no services will operate between Edinburgh and Aberdeen after 10.30 am on Thursday, and this suspension will persist until Saturday in both directions.
For travelers using LNER services between Newcastle and Edinburgh, a reduced hourly service will be in place from 3 pm and will continue until the end of service on Friday. Speed restrictions will also be enforced on this route, potentially causing delays of up to 40 minutes.
Network Rail has decided to impose speed restrictions across various parts of Scotland. While most ScotRail services will continue to run as scheduled, some regions may experience delays due to the ongoing adverse weather conditions.
