Scotland is grappling with the aftermath of a weekend deluge as flood warnings persist and the clean-up operation intensifies.
As of Monday morning, severe flood warnings remained in effect in Aviemore/Dalfaber and Perth.
Additionally, 52 flood warnings and eight flood alerts were active in various areas, underscoring the widespread impact of the heavy rain.
Over the weekend, torrential downpours led to flooding in numerous parts of Scotland, resulting in road closures and train cancellations.
ScotRail warned that flooding-related disruptions would continue into Monday, affecting routes connecting Edinburgh/Queen Street to Inverness and Queen Street to Aberdeen/Dundee/Perth and Arbroath.
Travelers were urged to consult the ScotRail app or website for updates before embarking on their journeys.
Although Met Office weather warnings for heavy rain during the weekend have lifted, a yellow warning for heavy rainfall looms in western regions on Tuesday.
Police Scotland noted that communities faced some of the most challenging conditions ever over the weekend, with dramatic rescue operations, including the airlifting of ten stranded motorists on Saturday due to landslides on the A83 in Argyll and Bute, which dislodged a staggering 2,000 tonnes of debris. An additional four motorists were airlifted in Kilmartin, Argyll and Bute.
