Angela Rayner: The SNP is "distracted and tired"

Labour's deputy leader, Angela Rayner, has criticized the SNP-led Scottish Government, branding them as "distracted and tired" in the run-up to her visit north of the border.

Rayner, accompanied by Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar, is set to promote the party's "new deal for working people" in East Lothian on Friday.

The proposed changes to employment law include a ban on exploitative zero-hours contracts, an end to fire-and-rehire practices, and the abolition of anti-union laws enacted by the Conservatives.

Rayner, who previously vowed to implement these changes within the first 100 days of a Labour government, emphasized that the path to Labour governance passes through Scotland.

She criticized the SNP and Tories, asserting that a Labour government would ensure Scotland's voice is heard and bring about transformative reforms benefiting workers.

Sarwar underscored the significance of Scottish MPs in influencing a Labour government at Westminster.
