Pressure mounts on Holyrood to expedite the probe into Health Secretary Michael Matheson's near-£11,000 data roaming bill.
Matheson recently confessed that his sons' use of his parliamentary iPad as a hotspot during a family trip to Morocco caused the exorbitant expense by streaming football games.
Initially earmarked to be covered by public funds, Matheson faced criticism and pledged to personally settle the bill amidst public outcry. However, the controversy escalated as questions arose regarding his earlier claims of no personal device usage.
Amid calls for resignation or dismissal, the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body (SPCB) confirmed an investigation, possibly referring Matheson to the Standards, Procedures, and Public Appointments Committee. While committing to a swift inquiry, the SPCB has been urged by Scottish Tory chairman Craig Hoy to establish a clear timetable.
