Police investigate theft of Land Rover during robbery in Falkirk

Detectives are appealing for information following a robbery near the village of Shieldhill near Falkirk.

The incident happened around 10.50 am on Wednesday the 9th of August, when a man entered a property not far from the Main Street area of the village and threatened the occupant.

The man made off with a black Land Rover Discovery that was recovered abandoned nearby.

The suspect is described as around 6ft tall, early 20s, of slim build, hair. He had a local accent and was wearing a blue/grey hoodie and dark-colored trousers. His face was partially covered with a black snood.

Detective Sergeant John Hunter, of Falkirk CID, said: “Fortunately no one was injured but the occupant of the house was distressed by what happened.

“I am appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area to get in touch. In addition, if you were driving and have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation then please make contact with officers.”
