Edinburgh Science Festival 2025 announces programme

The two-week festival offers a varied program of innovative, science-themed events designed to provide engaging experiences for adults and families.

Get ready for lift-off as Edinburgh Science Festival returns from 5-20 April 2025, with a programme that's both out of this world and firmly rooted in our everyday lives.

This year's theme, Spaceship Earth, invites you to join the crew on a journey to explore the wonders of our planet and discover innovative solutions to living sustainably.

This year's Festival features an impressive lineup of experts, including renowned biologist Professor Richard Dawkins, former NASA astronaut and oceanographer Dr Kathy Sullivan, and Edinburgh-born designer and TV personality Patrick Grant. They'll join a host of other scientists, artists, and innovators to inspire and educate audiences of all ages.

For families, the DiscoveryLab at City Art Centre offers five floors of interactive science exhibits perfect for Easter break. And for those looking for a relaxed and creative way to get hands-on with science, Science Nights Out return with a fresh lineup of events.

The festival’s unique blend of arts and will be on full display in its exhibitions, performances, and talks.

With events taking place at some of Edinburgh's most iconic venues, including the National Museum of Scotland, Dynamic Earth, The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, and Edinburgh Zoo, there's something for everyone.
