Edinburgh man hospitalised as Foot of the Walk is shut

An Edinburgh man is in hospital after an incident in the city, which saw Police Scotland close of Foot of The Walk on Constitution Street in Leith.

Police made their way to the scene at around 2.10 PM after they had received reports a man in his 40s had been injured in an incident.

The area surrounding the Newkirkgate Shopping Centre has been cordoned off while police continue to make enquiries.

An eyewitness told a local news organisation that police cars had been spotted on the road, with one present into the evening of Sunday.

Police Scotland has confirmed that enquiries are ongoing.
