59% of Scots don't trust ministers over cost of living

Scottish Labour says that Scottish people feel “abandoned” during the economic crisis as a new survey reveals a majority do not trust Scottish ministers to relieve pressures.

A public attitudes survey published by the Scottish Government showed that 55% do not trust ministers to work in “Scotland’s best interests” when it comes to the spiraling cost of living.

The survey, which interviewed more than a thousand people, showed 59% did not trust the approach to dealing with current pressures on NHS services, including long A&E waits and delayed discharges.

Jackie Baillie, Scottish Labour’s deputy leader, called the polling results “damning” and suggested a £100 water bill rebate.
