Lawsuit for Lizzo? Singer denies dancer harassment claims

American pop singer Lizzo is currently facing accusations of sexual harassment after several of her tour dancers have complained about the singer’s behaviour on tour.

The singer apparently caused a problematic working environment through sexual, religious and racial harassment between 2021 and 2023.

Lizzo, 35 shared a statement on social media describing the past few days as “gutwrenching difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing”.

When referring to the dancers who have spoken out against her alleged inappropriate behaviour she stated: “These sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publically admitted that they were told their behaviour was inappropriate and unprofessional…”.

The dancers who are pursuing the case are Crystal Williams, Noelle Rodriguez and Arianna Davis.

The lawsuit claims that she pressured one of her dance members to touch a nude performer at a club.

Also claims that the dance captain, Shirelene Quigley pushed her beliefs of Christianity on the performers and that she discussed the virginity of the performers whilst inappropriately discussing “her masturbatory habits and sex life with her husband.”

Before the lawsuit began Crystal Williams and Arianna Davis both competed on Lizzo’s Amazon reality show, ‘Watch Out for the Big Grrrls’ in 2021. They also performed with the singer before both were fired.

Noelle Rodriguez previously performed in Lizzo’s music video of ‘Rumours’ in 2021 before resigning in 2022.

Lawyer, Ron Zambrano released a statement saying the treatment of the performers by Lizzo and her management team went against all of the things Lizzo seems publically passionate about: … “Privately she weight-shamed her dancers and demeans them in ways that are not only illegal but absolutely demoralizing.”

The dancers appeared on CNN on Thursday to discuss the allegations with Arianna Davis saying: “The facts are the facts…”.
