Casting announced for new Beatle's films

In an exciting announcement, the cast has been confirmed in Sam Mendes' ambitious project featuring four films based on The Beatles, one for each band member.

Paul Mescal will portray Paul McCartney, while Barry Keoghan takes on the role of Ringo Starr.

For the 29-year-old Mescal, this role follows his recent success in the 'Gladiator' sequel and a 2023 Oscar nomination for his performance in 'Aftersun'. Keoghan, who also received an Oscar nod for 'The Banshees of Inisherin', steps into the shoes of the beloved Ringo Starr.

Harris Dickinson faces the challenge of bringing to life the legendary John Lennon, having recently appeared in the erotic thriller 'Babygirl' alongside Nicole Kidman.

Meanwhile, Joseph Quinn, known for his long-haired look as Eddie Munson in 'Stranger Things', will portray George Harrison.

The cast lineup was unveiled during the CinemaCon event in Las Vegas, where all four actors took the stage together in a nod to The Beatles' signature camaraderie.

Mendes plans to create four interconnected films, each told from the perspective of a different band member, with all releases scheduled "in proximity" to each other in April 2028. This groundbreaking project marks the first time that The Beatles, alongside the families of John Lennon and George Harrison, have granted full rights to their life stories and music for a scripted portrayal.

Mendes highlighted at CinemaCon that, despite the extensive documentation of The Beatles' rise, there remains "plenty to explore" regarding their story.
