Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway’s husband, Derek Draper, has been suffering from COVID-19, and is now the longest surviving inpatient with coronavirus in the UK. The 23rd March was not only ‘The National Day of Rememberance’ for those who had been lost to COVID-19, but also saw an incredibly moving documentary, following Kate Garraway’s life since Derek had been in hospital, air on STV.
GMB’s Political Editor, Ranvir Singh, told co-host Ben Shephard and Susanna Reid “When you know someone… it’s really hard to watch isn’t it?” Ms Singh also stated that she had met Mr Draper in December 2019, after Kate’s stint on reality TV show I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here.
Piers Morgan, who recently exited GMB also shared his thoughts on the documentary and later sent love to Kate on Twitter.
Meanwhile, fellow female presenter Susanna Reid has been offering support to Kate throughout and simply stated that Ms Garraway is a “tower of strength, courage and love.”
Ben Shephard who is currently at the helm since Piers Morgan’s departure and regularly co-hosts Good Morning Britain on a Thursday and Friday with Kate Garraway, revealed he was “Thinking of Kate, her family and anyone who is battling COVID”
